10x10 dog kennel as open coop tips

just an update : so far so good ... they have been outside for a week now!

Have had a good amount of rain and wind that didn't phase the chickens in any way and no predator problems ... they are still alive! :)

Skin the bottom 18 inches of your brooder with plywood, You can use steaks or wire. Coons will suck a bird through any chicken wire so shut down there door!! You might think of adding 2" x 4" deer wire on the floor outside perimeter to prevent digging predators, maybe 12' wide.

Some plywood on top too for shade and rain!

That should do everything...cheap too.

The BYC forum faq page states:

"Q: How Do I Get My Coop Page Added to the BYC Coop Index?
A: All the coops submitted to our coop contests are added to the various coop indexes AFTER the contest is over. Please look in our Sponsored Content, Contests, and Giveaways section for a link to the current coop contest and submit your coop there."

I can't wait to see yours in the future!

Latest udpate: a month later and all is well ... Thank you God!! :) The lil babies have been well protected in their home made dog kennel open coop.

the bags of soil around the coop are to cover the wire on the floor outside perimeter to prevent digging predators, about12' wide. at some point we will open the bags and plant plants LOL
