Is this a Cockerel or a Pullet?

I’m no silkie expert but the small comb makes me think pullet.

And — I love this picture!

I thought that because they don't have waddles they're hens. Is that not it?
On some breeds, that could be a good indicator. but some breeds, like bearded silkies and bearded polish, don't have waddles.
The best way to tell, is from six weeks up, except older on some slower developing breeds, any chicks that have red combs and wattles, are cockerels, until pullets it laying stage. Then the girls combs redden. But you should have a good idea by that time. At around twelve weeks, males start getting pointy hackle, saddle, and sickle feathers. You can always wait to confirm if ou weren't sure before.

It has a lot of pullet indicators.....rounded crest, small comb. But the thing that's getting me is that the comb is red. Red cannot be ignored! I would wait a couple weeks and see what happens. I have a feeling it may be a slow developing cockerel...
