11 week old splash marans from Meyer Hatchery. Sprints up to me every time I enter the coop and is most curious and interested in what I’m doing and where I’m going. Most likely to peck me. Do we have a roo?

My guess is pullet. I think the wattles and comb would be bigger at this age if it were male. Here is a picture of my Cuckoo Marans pullet who is also 11 weeks. She is definitely female (autosexing), but has similar wattle and comb growth to yours.

If yours by chance is a slow developing cockerel, you should see pointy hackle and saddle feathers growing in over the next few weeks. Here is a thread with some pictures of 11 week old Marans cockerels for you to compare:

I say she’s a pullet! Her comb is a little pink, but within the boundaries for a girl. It’s too early for male-specific feathering, so update in a few weeks if you’re still unsure.
