I set some Ameraucana eggs today as well! My friend has a beautiful rainbow flock of Ameraucanas so I can't wait to see what color chicks hatch!

They are looking fantastic!! I do love sharing the black and white image filters because it makes it so much easier to make out what's in there!

They're on day 7 I think... Very active little buggers

The weirdest thing just happened. I found an OEGB egg when I collected the eggs tonight and, wow, it just slipped right out of my hand and into the incubator. View attachment 2059409

I actually had an extra duck egg develop and I'm glad I rechecked because I would've tossed it since it was sitting with my clears.

Hope I'm not late!

I set 78 eggs early this morning..my hatches so far have been 12 - 18 hours early....so I hope to be finished on time for this Easter Hatch Along.
My 78 eggs include 8 Barred Wyandotte, 67 Columbian Wyandotte (out of pens 3, 4 and 5) and 3 Delaware Bantam.

Seeing all these egg sets I am starting to think I guessed too low of a number. Now I hope I’m right on the ones that actually hatch!!

I am doing awesome at not messing with my eggs this time around. Granted it’s only day one. But I will not candle til day 7 to check for fertility since I can’t see through olive eggs very well for development.

We shall see! I'm betting half if the silkies are not fertile (2 girls just started laying after a broody sabbatical, and one is on her way -screetching at everyone). And I'm not sure the roosters have caught my girl who lays ee eggs - she's a fast one!

Heres a question that may sound stupid but here goes.....if you've had the eggs in the incubator for a few days and candle them to see if they are indeed developing. ...I would assume that it's not OK to eat the ones that show no sign of development?
