12+ Blue Laced Red Brahma Project Hatching Eggs

You guys do realize that this is for BLR Brahmas not Wyandottes right ? I don't know why you would mention what other auctions have went for when this is only the 2nd one that he has listed for his Brahmas.

I think some of you are blowing this way out of proportion, just simply bid in one dollar increments from the begining and you wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Most of us have mutiple breeding flocks not just wyandottes... infact most of us have a few that we are working on for different reasons. It is the sentiment behind the comment that was distasteful.

I'm with Lovins and ace.

Us sharks have all spent this kind of $$ on eggs like BLRW but TRUST the sellers because we get to know them well in shark auctions and banter. They keep up the interest and ONLY INCREASE THE PRICE IN THE LONG TERM.

Nice birds but I am swimming away with Lovins and ace.

Good luck anyway

You do know that these are most likely the best quality if not the ONLY BLR Brahmas on the face of the earth so these eggs are actually being sold for a really decent price. And if you cant tell that he isnt totally serious about the cent thing why would he have the mysterious music in the background.

I do believe we know these are BLR Brahmas and how nice they are, and how much work is being put in to them.

No-one is saying they are not worth a lot of $$$ - on the contrary.

It is just as was said before:- It is the sentiment behind the comment that was distasteful, and personally I appreciate a bird more when I appreciate the person whom it came from.

The shark bidding is often "testing the waters" to see who is interested, and is not on the whole, being cheap and certainly not meant to be disrespectful.

You guys are being rather, um, cliquish to say something along the lines of "me and my other sharks swimming away." This isn't high school folks. Perhaps his effort isn't appreciated here and he should go somewhere where people realize breeding is more than crossing pretty chicken one with pretty chicken two.

This guy has YEARS of serious breeding invested with ZERO payback so far except one auction, which he was kind enough to run here rather than taking it to eggbid or another place open to any bidder. It would be really nice if BYC had an option, like other auction formats, to set the bid increment so that those who don't want bids to be less than a dollar or five dollars more than the previous bidders can have it as such without having to ask people, tongue in cheek or not, to please bid seriously.

If you were to go to an auction and try to bid something up by a penny, unless it was going by the pound, you wouldn't be taken seriously.

Just my .2 cents.

Alright it's after 2:30 AM and my alarm is set for 5, I have been lying awake thinking about this. Maybe I don't comprehend the atmosphere here, but it certainly was not my intention to alienate a bunch of people. The whole shark thing was an attempt,( a poor one apparently) at using humor to express my disdain for the penny bids I have seen on here. Do I feel they are disrespectful, absolutely I do.
It does not set well with me that people may not think well of me. All I ask is a honest good faith bid and I promise you I will do everything in my power to make you very happy. Rest assured the winning bidder will getting the very best eggs I have. There now that I have said my piece I am going to try to get some sleep.

I still don't get the bidding issue here but do hope someone takes these as they are gorgeous.

If you started your auction at a penny, or $5, when looking for $50, I could see being irritated with penny increments, but thats the rules of this auction. You started your auction at $50, which is a good price for any eggs, and obviously, if only one person bids, they would get them for $50. So you're saying if only one person bids, they get the fresh eggs, but if 5 people bid and the 5th gets it at $50.05, you'll snub your nose at that bidder for bidding 5 cents more?? They are bidding on your eggs!!! They are paying more than you listed at.

Better than no bids, huh.

If you're unhappy with the way the auction here is set up, theres always Ebay.

Hi Cyn, glad to see you before open warfare breaks out. It started when the OP stated that if penny bids were made, they might not recieve his freshest eggs if they were the winning bid. He was jokingly trying to ask that bids only be made in $1 increments. Unfortunately, it offended alot of people. I know the penny increments bother alot of the sellers though, he's not the only one. He didn't mean to offend anybody, but that's what ended up happening.

edit to add, the +12 just means that the auction is for 12 eggs, but alot of sellers will send extras to help increase hatching %.
