12+ Blue Laced Red Brahma Project Hatching Eggs

Quote:
the original post has been edited, it did talk about not sending his freshest eggs if you bid in penny increments.
this from my first post is a direct quote from the auction which was since changed:

"SHARK WARNING: If the winning bid is less than one U.S. dollar higher than the previous bid, you may not recieve my freshest eggs. You have been warned (cue ominous music)"

Gotcha. Will confer with the Staff. I agree that whoever wins the auction, no matter what the actual bid is, should get what is offered (fresh eggs), nothing less. I would hope that was a joke. And I understand about extra eggs, just never saw that type notation before.

when people auction, the item is usually a certain number you will be guaranteed to get (in this case 12) and the plus is how many extra they will send to offset broken or infertile eggs that may not hatch in hopes you will get a hatch of the number you actually bid on (in this case 12 hatches)
does that help?

I won his last auction for 12 + eggs, and he sent 16, so he definitely sends extras and he packaged them very well - none were broke! All of them have developed, but one quit early - so we still have 15 going.

He definitely sends fresh eggs. He was really just trying to carry on the atmosphere from the previous auction by making a joke, and it didn't work out the way he'd hoped.

I would not place eggs for bid on an auction format that allow one penny increments. It is just not meaningful to me. I would simply put my eggs up on an auction format that does not allow for the one penny silliness. I frankly will never bid for nor sell eggs on BYC auction because I have noted the one penny increments and frankly dont take the auction serious.

That is just me.

However, at live auctions the auctioneer or the auction house does set the limit on increments it is not the seller or the buyer. Many buyers will try to break down the increments and the auctioneer will make the decision on how small that increment can be. I can tell you I have never seen a penny be an option.

My last auction, my eggs went for 76.02. Was I upset about the 2 cents, no I wasn't. I do wish tho the auction format would be changed to at least .25 increments. The only auctions in "real life" that I have ever experienced penny bids are livestock auctions, and even those are generally only on cull cows and bulls when the auctioneers are trying to get the very last bid out of the buyers.

Heres his last post just incase you missed it. And when it said if you give the cent bids it said "cue ominous music" which gives the thought to me at least that the "not the freshest eggs" part may not be in reality and IT WAS JUST A JOKE as he said. It may just tick him off to get penny bids on these birds that he has spent soo much time on, even tho they are still a project

big medicine,
I am sooooooooo sorry that you are having all these people not understand your humor!!
I no big medicine and he is a GREAT guy that would never try and offend or upset anyone!!!!!!
