Wonderful!!!

I'm looking at wanting more of your eggs around the 3rd week in Feb, I think.

I decided to name it Caden. I went to babynames.com and looked for a name meaning survivor...none, fighter...Caden . I don't know that it's out of the woods yet....still just sleeping, but I keep talking to her and encouraging her to fight.

I hope Caden fights the good fight, Amy.

Hi Brandy!
By mid-Feb, I should have eggs available.
Amy and Cindy already claimed the first sets from the new pen, but you can have the next ones.

OOhhh...sounds like the naked neck girls better get busy!!

When I was 7, I crocheted an itsy bitsy scarf for my itsy bitsy teddy bear. I have not been able to stop thinking about that since my little nn guy hatched!

Hi Mark! The NNs (Turkens) I started with would have been called buffs. I think that's the most common color for them. I bred to get AWAY from that color and only kept blue and black youngsters.

You better start crocheting, Cindy! I see many NN's in your future.

Hi Cindy!
A Showgirl (*gak*, I dislike that name) is a Naked Neck Silkie --- a bird crossed at some point to introduce the naked neck and bred to Silkie standards.

A Turken is a specific naked neck breed with breed standards.

A Naked Neck is any bird with a naked neck (not a breed, but a condition bred into a breed or cross-breed).

Lisa,
After having no interest whatsoever in this oddity, then hatching this awsome little creature, it's like being turned on to a new drug! (not that I do drugs..just a saying). I want to know more. Thanks
