12 week old Wyandotte gender?

I am thinking it is a roo due to its coloring. I am no BLRW pro. I do have 5 blrw, 2 roos and 3 pullets. My roos have the same coloring as your bird (red top feathers) and the girls have more lacing. My birds hatched 5/5/10 so they are just about the same age.

I am a bit confused though, cuz my roos combs are much more developed. Perhaps she is a girl with just a different color pattern. I will try to get pics of my birds to post here later.

Pictures would be great

she is a hatchery girl, so the coloring I assumed was a crapshoot.

Here are some pics of my BLR Wyandotte roos and hens. You can see the roos comb is much more developed at about the same age - so perhaps yours is a pullet. Sorry, I don't have any pics of his saddle. I will try to get some later.

Wow those are beautiful! LoL much better lacing then Butternut. I will keep an eye on this chicky, and hopefully she WILL in fact be a she

If anybody else has any other opinions feel free to voice them, even if it's just a haphazard guess.

Not sure if there is a difference because of color, but here is my 13 week old sl/blr splash roo. I would assume combs would redden the same even though the coloring is different? Yours looks hennish to me. My roo has been crowing for well over a month. I would think yours would have made some sort of attempt to crow by now. Can you feel little spurs starting to grow on the backs of her/his legs? Just little nubs at this stage.

Oh wow yeah she definately does not have that comb. Yay! I am hoping she is indeed a she. No attempts have been made to crow, but she did yell the egg song when the ramp fell on her. I assume it was more of a scared thing then anything, but still. I will take the choice of egg song rather then crow as a good sign

I guess I will have to wait a little longer to be sure. When abouts do they crow? She is 13 weeks old this week.

She was fine thank goodness. I had put the ramp up to clean the coop and forgot to set it back down. It isn't heavy, and might not have fallen ON her, but it sure scared the snot out of her. She came RUNNING out of the pen doing the egg song, no joke. Sounded like she had a bad case of hiccups lol. But she settled down once I picked her up, she is very sweet and inquisitive. One of my favorites.
