Ah, so many old friends on this hatch along... I must join in, even though I somehow missed the "set date" by a bit! I had decided to get a jump start on layers for the early summer, so began setting them in phases. The closest I have to New Years are some hatching on the 4th. So, I won't do the contests, but I will "hang out" w you all for the next few days to see your successes!

They are/were the best laying birds I’ve had. Only have one left, was just thinking of you the other day wondering if you still sold them.
Need some color in the sales eggs. Rooster was crazy loud though.

What happened to them? We lost 3 to a fox last year (electric fence will help with that this year!)
That's funny about your rooster - ours sound like they're gargling!
I'll be doing breeding pens in a few weeks. I'm still using my wonderful splash boy, but this youngin' is showing some nice promise.

Coyotes got 2 gave one to friend and the one that’s left isn’t laying right now

Probably because first the total amount set needs to be announced before anyone can make an educated guess. Don't want people guessing a number that is more than the total amount set

My Christmas chicks are hatching. According to E, we must name the first one "Christmas" and since I can't ever remember individual bird names, this whole hatch will have to be named for holidays.
New Year Chicken
MLK chicken
President's Chicken
Valentine's Chicken
St. Patrick's chicken (hasn't hatched yet, maybe it'll lay green eggs!)
