Always set the blue egg. This gene is dominant over white shell and if you like the resulting cockerel, you will know he carries the blue egg gene
Sorry to burst your bubble, but unfortunately this isn't true. Yes, it's dominant, but that only guarantees the hen carries at least one blue egg gene - which she may or may not pass on to the chick. I have a tinted layer from a blue egg. And my rooster clearly has only one blue gene, because he has blue, brown, tinted, and green laying daughters.

That said, set the blue egg :thumbsup

I have these 3 eggs I set from a health food store, due April fools day.

@BullChick I don't think I've seen that in there, no. There have also been a few blood spots in her eggs, and the egg is sometimes a little watery. The shell is kind of porus and thinner compared to the other eggs from other hens. I thought this was because I took those last six eggs I tried last year right before she stoped laying for a molt, but her eggs are still a bit off now that she's laying again. I hoped this year might be different.

I don't know why her eggs wouldn't be fertile because she lives with a RIR rooster... the SLW lives with the same roo (my chicks from her will be a RIR + SLW cross, same as I hatched out last year).
