I wish I had, unfortunately the incubator I was going to buy went out of stock right when I was going to buy it :(

Oh no, so sorry. :hugs Thanks for the update though.

So my wife and I are definitely incubation newbies. Yesterday, we candled the 44 she set. 41 of which had what appeared to be small networks of veins. My homemade incubator was not maintaining as steady temperature as I would like, so I added a thermostat. A large brooder and additional run and coop are in my future.

Misting the eggs does the opposite of raising humidity. It makes the air cells draw down more-- kind of an opposite thing. It has to do with the moisture evaporating off of the egg
This is counter intuitive. Adding any water surface area to an incubator is going to raise humidity and reduce fluid loss from all eggs in the incubator.
I mark my air cells as I candle and I have never experienced any air cell get smaller.
I have never found that misting eggs changed anything much, but I maintain a fairly consistent RH in my incubators.

I can't win for losing with this hatch. The cats unplugged the incubator and I forgot to check it for two days because we still had guests here. Plugged it in. All good, right? Right?!?! Nope. The temp shot up to 104 and my phone didn't alert me. :he

So far everything is fine, though. I did find an egg I didn't notice was cracked until I candled it. At this point I can't tell if my hatch is behind, ahead, or on schedule. Still fine, though. I refuse to panic.

Do you have a generator, I keep a small one just for my incubators 2500watt Coleman and it will run my 3 incubators.

My parents have one if it's bad enough that I need to borrow it. I may get one of the little ones for in the future just to be safe though. I have some really expensive eggs in there right now...
