7 day mark today for first official candling!I am happy to report that out of 16 eggs,13 eggs are developing and only 3 were clear and discarded.The babies are happily bouncing around in their eggs so I am certain their healthy.Here is a pic of one.View attachment 2578195

All right, I guess now I'm officially officially in; I've sent in my number. And only a week behind... Guess they won't technically be Easter chicks for me, but babies are babies, right?

Sad...today is day seven and I see no development in all the eggs. I don’t know what went wrong?! Here are pictures. I see no veins at all, should I replace them?

Aw I'm so sorry

I was just checking the duck eggs I set last Friday night, these are 7+ days old. 16 out of 17 show lots of veins! WOW! Sooo cooool. I had my friend and her little girl over to see them, too!

My pullet eggs seemed to be about 50% fertile with a cockerel getting conjugal visits. Of the eggs I've incubated only a third have developed. I put in extras just in case, and I only want a few chicks anyway, just to see what colours come through, as it's heading into autumn in my neck of the woods.

I just set 8 silkie eggs around noon 3/20/21. They will be 6-7 days late but it sounds like that is still acceptable? If so I'd love to join!

No, opening the incubator wouldn’t do that. Honestly, unless you have a cold or nasty dirty incubator, I’m stumped.

So am I, and I got 4 KCs that were 100% fertile, I cracked them all open after day 9 and saw huge, clear blastoderms in all of them, but no development whatsoever. I've incubated so many times and always get a few like that

All 3 of my eggs are infertile. I'm not surprised, this happens every year; I should start getting fertile eggs in about a month, when it warms up a bit. In the meantime, those feedstore chicks are singing siren songs to my ears and my wallet.

I'm sorry to hear that but at the same time I'm laughing about the feedstore chicks because that's so true

How many times should I turn my eggs? I'm turning by hand and don't want to leave the lid open too often. So far I have turned them as little as 3x's/day up to 11.

I turn three times a day.
