I don’t know what color it will be but I think Butter is just the cutest name for a Buff Orp.I have a question for you all. Since a lot of you have hatched out lots and lots of chicks over the years maybe one of you will have done this cross. What should I expect from a Black Copper Marans Rooster x a Buff Orpington hen? I've tried using the color calculator charts and those things are confusing but I think maybe a black chicken with gold leakage? Of all the eggs I've set its this egg under my broody hen that is the most important to my mother. The orp Butter is my moms favorite hen and all she wants is a Butter baby. I think maybe there is a 50% chance for feathered legs, but again genetics are not my thing. If anyone has pictures of this cross as chicks or adults I'd love to see them to maybe get a idea of what to expect. I know there is a lot of pressure on this one poor egg to hatch lol. But it was the one egg I've managed to candle under her and the chick was dancing around. Now it just has to safely hatch and cross every finger it's a girl.
Today is day 8on what day is you?

This is what I get with the calculator. I agree it tis confusing, but once you figure it out, it is quite fun to play with.I have a question for you all.
