I think I've about had it with my incubator.Everyday for the past week I've had to adjust it down from 104. I expect this out of hatching in the middle of summer. Not in spring. I've tossed over a dozen eggs so far.
I think I'm going to retire this one and only use it for hatching.
I am so sorry! So just tossed 12 out of 13 of the shipped eggs. One of these paints is developing well, has a slightly saddled air cell but looks good otherwise. Fingers crossed!![]()
Thanks for the video!I time-lapsed another Polkie chick hatching. This one is very active, lol!
You never know! It could also be from air pressure change in the plane coming over the oceanJust been corresponding back and forth with the breeder. She has an excellent hatch rate with her own eggs and has no reported issues from others getting eggs from her. She suspects the eggs may be getting x-rayed when they come through Hawaii, even though she labels them not to be. So frustrating.![]()

I hatched an egg that looked just like this last month. It did not have any issues and was one of my earlier hatches.
@Cynthia12...I have one too. This one's still alive and bouncing around by where the air cell should be:

I placed it back into the incubator for now and made sure to put it in more of an upright position then it was in before. I'm hoping it still has a chance to correct itself but guess I'll just have to wait and see.
So sweet of you to offer!I'm sorry.Remind me what breed you were hatching? My favorite breeders will ship replacements for just the cost of shipping. I feel like it's good business to do that regardless of whether it's the fault of shipping. Otherwise customers are left with a bad taste in their mouth about their experience.
Maybe it's something I have access to locally that I can send to you?

Shipping to Hawaii is a hassle and requires permits and working with the state Ag. department. This is one of the reasons so difficult to get eggs/chicks sent here. Most people do not want to go through the trouble, though it is not as complicated as it seems on the surface.
I am attempting to hatch silkies. The breeder is sending me some more eggs.![]()
