Does anyone else ever get Antsy on the final Days? I'm like itching to see when I'll see some movement or pips
And canceling from the outside doesn't really work that well
Do these look normal? I can't tell

If you have any of that rubberized cupboard and drawer liner. You might want to put some down in there. I cut a piece then cut the corners as I was taking the tray out and getting ready for lock down..

SAME!! I have this mad but productive habit of cleaning the house or doing outside work when I am super stressed by something.

Looks good. The last few days are torture! I don't know how hens do it with so much patience.

What I want to know is how do they know how many times a day to turn the eggs, and keep the temp and humidity perfect, then go into lockdown (stop turning the eggs) and raise the humidity for the last 3 days. Do they have wall calendars and clocks we can't see?

I have two eggs that have pipped. I find I am antsy at least before lock down I had eggs to turn! Now I just have fingernails to bite!

Do you have less eggs in the incubator this time? Sometimes purely the number of eggs in the incubator will increase the temperature and as the chicks develop they will also start to produce their own heat later in incubation.

I actually have far fewer eggs since I candled these and tossed 1/3 at day 8 then half of what was left at day 14. There is less than a full carton of eggs in there currently, but pretty sure it was just the heavy wet material dragging the temp down. I pulled it and added a couple sponges instead and the temp is back normal now. They are due to hatch tomorrow but if still viable they likely are a day behind or more.

You can buy kits with heaters to replace the bulb.

Thanks! I will definitely look into it. It's getting harder and harder to find 60 watt bulbs that aren't LED. I need to replace the shell anyway. Everything is removable and reusable.

I feel like I'm reading computer code when I look at your date and time. But the 3rd or 4th of April (Sat or Sun) would be good for lockdown for eggs set on 3/17. That would be day 17/18.

4/4 at 23:30 ideally, although I've often stopped turning and increased humidity as long as 2 days early and 1 day late and not seen a major impact on hatch rate
