12th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Mine are currently in lockdown and besides the occasional wiggle, still waiting. 21 days is not until Tuesday so may not have final numbers for a few days. Learned something though, just for the heck of it when doing the final candle pulled out the stethoscope and listened. You could hear their hearts beating with it.

So cool! I am going to try that! Mine goes into lockdown on Wednesday!

One hatched after two were crushed by a plastic egg carton. I did set some afterwards due to hatch April 11th if they count?

ONE
Only 1 out of 11 were fertile rooster not doing a good job He's beautiful so I still live in hope he will give more fertile eggs, but I think he may have some sort of back problem so I may have to swap him out

I had 13 hatch but 1 died of wry neck

I have 5 so far and two more are coming. One has a fairly large air hole but has been in the shell for around 36 hours that way with no progress and I'm getting concerned. It looks like the membrane is pulling away from the shell a bit... I don't want to help too soon but I don't want to wake up to a shrunk-wrapped chick either.

The other I expected tomorrow so she's early.

Yup, my other bator I got last year started that business... So I got a Nurture Right 360 this month to do my incubating in... Don't like cooked babies at all.

I think I'll get another before I incubate again. I'll look into this one.
