Just came home from a week vacation and one of my girls has some very tall tail feathers. I'm going to try to get a picture of her. She is the most skittish chicken out of 16. She has about six or seven very long black tail feathers that stick out above all the rest... no comb. Easter Egger breed

I have one that looks so much like yours but he already has his pork chop side burns as my daughter calls them lol he is 14 weeks and look at the tail feathers that go down (point to the ground) my fathers has always told me that is a sure sign of a Roo. And I gotta say he has always been right. Hen feathers will not drop like that. Just my thoughts on it. But I think it is a Roo :)

Any idea what kind of chicken she is?

looks like a mixed breed. The grey legs look like there "may" be some ameraucana in there but there is no muff or beard that are standard to that breed. Also, I don't think that is a standard pattern for an ameraucana either.

I think that is more like a pattern you would see with a Columbian Wyandotte rosster

Easter egger.
They are most of the time called Amerucana or airucana (stupid spell correct) by hatcheries or uneducated people you get them from.

Amerucana:
Purebred
Blue eggs
Black or slate legs
Recognized colors
Pea comb

Easter egger:
Mix between a blue egg layer and another chicken
Any color eggs
Any color legs tends to be green
Non recognized colors
Any type of comb

I see hackle and saddle feathers comming in and that tail.

I bought them from Mt. Healthy Hatchery outside of Cincinnati OH. Supposedly good at their job for over 80 years. I don't think any of my 3 Auracanas are legit : (
