With some polish thrown in:p

I bought them from Mt. Healthy Hatchery outside of Cincinnati OH. Supposedly good at their job for over 80 years. I don't think any of my 3 Auracanas are legit : (

I have 4 total one roo and 3 girls one girl is acting like she has OCD but still trying to figure out what is wrong with her all of mine are pure I know the breeder she is a good friend of mine and that is the only breed she has. Wait for the sideburns to show up I have 3 with them now and 2 without them they are all the same age 14 weeks. My Roo looks just like yours except he has the porkchop side burns already and they are big lol Don't count them out yet he looks like one so give it some time. But either way I think they are in a good home and well they are chickens what is not to love/??

"What's Up Chicken Butt??" What do you think about the tail feathers? ROO??? Auri is 13 weeks today. There is NO COMB... Any help?View attachment 1109542View attachment 1109543 View attachment 1109544
OK, I'm in full agreement that it's an EE, not an Ameraucana. However, this doesn't look like a cockerel to me. The patterning makes feathers appear pointed that actually aren't plus it's pretty late for an EE cockerel to not have any comb development. There's also no sign of rooster wing patches so I'm thinking pullet. BTW, I have had a number of chicks with pointed feathers in their juvenile tail. That means nothing at all.

X2
B&W like this is usually male, but this bird is not showing any of the hallmark leakage or shading usually present with this pattern on a male

There's my EE rooster ( I think), Peek A Boo ( Boo for short) next to his buddy Roo, ( Buff Orpington rooster). They were given to me when they were 13 weeks old.
If Boo is an EE like I'm told that he is then why does he look so different from other EE's?

Easter Egger is not an actually breed, so there us no standard or consistency in appearance.... they cone in a wide variety of appearance

There are more than a few EE threads here loaded with pictures if you search. And yes, yours looks like other EEs even if you haven't yet seen a photo of one exactly like him yet. He's actually the same color as this one of mine but her white covers to such a degree that you probably can't even tell she isn't white from a photo. Her color is extremely dilute but it's there.

So if there's no actual breed of EE then why are they listed as a breed?
I don't know anything about raising chickens. I have only begun tending to them since late 2015.

Its no different than cinnamon queen, red star, golden comet etc being used as a "breed" to sell red sex links....they are not a breed either

honestly I have no idea why some hatcheries call them a "breed", but hey are not listed as a breed with the American Poultry Association. They are trendy because they lay pretty colored eggs. But they wouldn't breed true to any standard breed. Kind of like a mutt, might be sweet and very pretty, but still not a true breed
