Mark the eggs so you can see how they rotate.

I have the same incubator, and I find the turner a bit wonky... it depends on the sizes and shapes of the eggs etc as to how well it turns.

I also find it has some warmer and colder zones... so even when I use the turner, once a day I move around all eggs and rotate them by hand.

Thanks for the info.

I wasn't going to candle until day 7, but I can shuffle them a bit and maybe try to line up sizes.

Most of my eggs are between 55 and 65g.

NR 360 -- almost brand new, having hatched only once.

I keep seeing the same 2 Marans eggs in the same place. But when I press the turn test buttons it does advance so maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Is the day count set and the turner light on? If the day count goes below 3 the turner stops.

Well only one is fertile on my end, but I set it on the 28th and it’s not apart of the original group I posted. So if it can’t be counted no worries at all

This is going to be a great hatch for me! ALL of my eggs including the pea sized fairy one have an air cell/developing embryo lmao I doubt it'll hatch but my mom is rooting for it still

I literally just set 44 quail eggs to hatch yesterday…and when it went to our quail aviary just now, look what I found!! She’s our first Coturnix Quail born naturally.
So maybe by the end of this we’ll have 45 quail. (She’s the “oops” child. I won’t count her in our Easter Hatch-Along tally.)

Thanks! I’m not sure, honestly. I’m still pretty new to pigeons.

These are the parents. I think they might be homing pigeons? Or at least that’s what someone said when I first adopted them. I live in CA.

Quick question for those of us who are impatient and candle on day 3... is it normal to see more eggs that look like they have blood rings on day 3? Is that a for sure they are dead (not that I'm about to pull eggs on day three!), just trying to get my hopes up I guess. I did some candling (I'm incubating mostly pullet eggs, which I get there is some debate over) and some eggs already appear to have a blood ring/separation type thing going on. What could I be seeing?

I too am a candle a lot person, I just HAVE to know how things are going. I think what you might be seeing is some of the beginning blood vessels. This doesn’t look like a blood ring to me! Definitely keep the faith! I candled on Day 2 and 3 and noted that a few didn’t look very promising and made note of which eggs may have issues and to keep an eye on them. Eggs 5-8 all seemed questionable but tonight I candled and only 7 and 8 have veins and look really good! Good luck!
