Good idea. It's still possible that it's a very late cockerel. I have never raised Marans so I have no idea how fast they normally develop.

Check your local CL or state thread here. I've told fifty-leven people they have cockerels today. Odds are that one lives in your state.

I was thinking the same thing! Haha! Once I know Harold is in fact a hen, I'll probably be looking for a rooster. I'm sure there is someone out there that is sadly searching for an loving home for their cockerel.

Thought I would loop back for the benefit of anyone who may search and find this post useful in the future. Harold is in fact a hen! We were sure she was a cockerel for so long but today she just laid her first egg at 21weeks old.
