I was able to hatch some before the ajustment but the percentage was not good. So far this time things are looking good. Will know for sure in a few days.
All I know is now I am getting readings at what the pre-set is suppose to be. I do however use a water wiggler.
Our toggle is on 4 and stays at 100.0 but the weird thing is the temp in the watter wiggler is higher or the same as the other one? It is really weird. Trying hard not to over stress, and go by whether or not they are developing and they are.... so, just trying to not over anyalyze.
Mine is reading the same as yours, and my water wiggler is just fine, I've tested it. So, relax, do what the good instructions say and take a deep breath. Remember, we bought these particular bators so we wouldn't do what we are doing. Worrying.
If your WW isn't reading lower than your temp, then it's reading wrong.
That's what I assumed. And it is even over on the side next to the wall, so it really should be lower and it's not. I am just going to let it go and keep praying!!
Mine came set to 4. In the instructions they tell you that the incubator is more accurate than the little thermometer that they give you with it.
I set 8 eggs as test. One was not fertile. One stopped developing at about a week. The other 6 hatched fine on day 20-22. The digital thermometer that I put in it seemed to run a little under 99.5 BUT the hatch seemed fine and that's what matters.
I am very happy with the incubator. I never touched the temperature. The test hatch was successful.
Now I'm stuck with the test chicks in January inside my house because I'm afraid to put the brooder out in the garage in case the bulb burns out when the temps are in the single digits
