I have tried both hydrometers

You may need to look at large pet shops. I have one of these in my Gecko's cage. Places like Pet's mart or Pet co.
 
If for any reason you can not find the sprinfield hydrometer you can use the one from petco

is very cheap and very close to perfect calibration like 1 or 2 % diferece

Unfotunally this is only to read humidity

but is very close to 75% when you test it
 
After hemming and hawing for weeks I bit the bullet and bought a 1588 with a turner off Ebay today. Can't wait to get it and join in the fun. My chickens are just starting to lay so I can practice on them during the winter.
