15th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along
Natural Egg Photo Contest
Ends April 12th, 2024
To enter, simply snap a photo of your natural eggs and reply to this thread. The top entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on composition, lighting, color, and overall appeal.
The winners will receive some fantastic prizes, including bragging rights and the satisfaction of knowing that they have captured the essence of natural eggs in all their glory. So what are you waiting for? Grab your camera and get cracking!
The eggs can be from chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, quail, guineas, peafowl, emu, pheasants, or any other type of domestic poultry. Use as many different types together as you wish. Take photos of your eggs in interesting arrangements and settings for the best chance of winning (see pics of past winners below for examples). Please read the contest rules detailed below.

Rules:
Photography tips from fellow BYC members:
- Four entries per member. One entry per post, please.
- Eggs from all domestic fowl (chickens, turkeys, peafowl, guinea fowl, quail, waterfowl, pheasants, emu, etc.) may be used.
- All eggs must be in their natural state, no dyeing or other altering allowed.
- Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
- No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the picture. No collages.
- The picture needs to have been taken by you.
- You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
- High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
- ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
- Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
- All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
- Entries will be accepted until April 12th, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Oh!! Good to know that these are Maran! I have a hen who is our most regular layer with a very similar egg. Now I know that it is one of my EE with maran parentage. But which one…Pretty Marans eggs with violets.
