16 chicks gone without a trace

Hi,

Yesterday, i lost 16, 5 week-old chicks without a trace. I know that they were here during the day, but when i came home from church they were all gone. They were free ranging with the big girls, so the predator(s) would not have had to break into anything.

What i can't figure out is what could have taken that many chicks at one time without leaving any trace behind.

Your thoughts?

Are you sure there not hiding somewhere are possibly got lost somewhere.

I went out just now, and found that they decided to sleep under the coop last night, a great testament to my dogs who were previously under suspicion. The dogs also sleep under the coop. The chicks are fine. I'm so relieved!
