16 eggs, 3 species, 1 homemade incubator: Will it be done?

I know it is not in the grand plan but how ready are you for keeping the ducklings....I don't know about others experience but when ducklings hatch it fired much more for me than the chickies. I suspected your mom will fall victim to this also.....

I am not ready to keep them. I won't be keeping them because they already have a home that is excited and is anticipating their arrival.

Good morning!

It is indeed a good morning. I just checked on Molly and she as 3 healthy babies! Two are nicely fluffed up, and one is freshly hatched. Hoping for the other 3 to hatch. I'm glad I checked and was able to do an emergency cleanup last night.

From now on, I'll be candling broody eggs twice. Once at 10ish days and at lock down.

Molly is a Buff Orp and her babies are Dark Cornish.



We have another freshly hatched baby!

I just had an idea that I'm giving a go. I know Molly can care for 10 chicks at a time. So, I am attempting to graft the 4 chicks that hatched last week on to her. She seems to have accepted them. They are listening to her "food" call and I tucked them under her and they seem to accept that as they aren't popping right back out. Hopefully this works.
