Hi everyone…. I have officially just set eggs for this…. Emu eggs!!! I set two yesterday and I am setting two today when the arrive in the mail. That *should* put the hatch date right around Easter, according to the chart that Debbie posted!

How exciting! I was just coming to this thread to see when the Emu set data was.

I wish I could, but I have a beach trip this year in May. I have to wait to get chicks until after we come back.

What beach are you going to?

I'm going to try to set again this year, but I have so much going on right now that I can't make any guarantees as of yet.

I haven't joined any hatch-alongs in a while, but I'm planning to set my incubator for this one!

This will be a first time using an incubator and yes mine is an Amazon cheap one. I also have 1 rooster with 20+ hens so I expect a low hatch rate.

I am hoping to learn from the more experienced hatchers as we journey through this.

@casportpony Thanks!! I am hoping that these eggs will hatch right around Easter - I did set them at the end of the dates suggested for Emus. Two eggs on 2/28 and two eggs on 3/1. We will see what happens, I am excited!

I'm joining!

I'm going to set, if they make enough: White Frizzle Cochin, Golden Seabright, and Porcelain d'Uccle eggs, all crossed with my porcelain d'Uccle roo. I'm DYING to see Seabright d'Uccle crosses.

Also Crested Cream Legbar, Black Copper Marans, crossed with my BCM roo, and maybe a few more French Blue Cuckoo Marans. I bought two last year and I picked probably the only roo in the case. I said to the employee who was helping me:"That one looks so different! Watch it's a roo..."
Yes, yes it was. An $11.99 roo. *lol*
He's a biiiiig boy.
