17 week Easter Egger Roo

4H project gone slightly array…we ended up with an accidental rooster from a sexed run. He is beautiful and so far docile but we cannot keep him in the neighborhood. He is also my 10 year old daughter’s project so we don’t feel like culling him. Needs new home this weekend! Jacksonville NC area

You could try a livestock auction in your area. I did a quick search and found this one immediately, in Pink Hill NC, 1st and 3rd saturdays every month:

Doesn't have to be an auction house for chickens. You can contact any livestock auction service - most have certain dates they set for small animals and poultry.
Don't expect to get much for him, unfortunately. Last auction I went to, all the roosters on the sale block went for 75-cents each. But it would be a great experience for your daughter and she'd never have to know what his fate might be, for better or worse.
