19 + 21 = 20?

I have a 21 percent chick starter feed and a 19 percent finisher feed. If I mix them in a 1:1 ratio. I should get a feed that has 20 percent protein in it like most flock raiser feeds. Could I feed this to my entire flock if I wanted.

Honestly, 1% protein won't make much difference either way, though.

Actually ... 19+21=40!

However you then need to divide the 40 by 50% ... which does equals 20 ...

You can mix what you have, but I wouldn't buy the two just to mix ... buy whichever one you like, and skip the mixing in the future.

If your "entire flock" consists of birds that are laying ... then you will also want to add some oyster shell in a seperate container for them to help themselves to "ala carte" ...
