19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

Of course I have a picture! lol It is really pretty well shelled for a first egg and not too oddly shaped or anything so that's the best thing.

another egg today, looks fine but small. same spot as the previous 3, i guess it's the same hen.
i think i know which as well, one of mine seems a little more developed than the rest.

I have 2 red sexlinks i purchased on March 24th as day old chicks. After reading this thread I thought to myself, and counted out the weeks. 1, 2, 3, 16 weeks old. Now, I havn't noticed any difference in their appearance or behavior so I wasnt witing impatiently for eggs, but I did take a look today, and there, low and behold were two (slightly smallish) brown eggs waiting for me in the coop. I guess I should keep an eye out now, my Peking Ducks should start laying pretty soon as well. Yay me!

oh i must have misred something. Yes i have a fan as well as a kiddie pool for them to walk through. They just dont seem interested. We just bought an 18 pack of eggs to hopefully encourage them :) well off to check the coop!

Your andalusians may take longer than 20 weeks to lay... just giving you a heads up.

Lop I saw your avatar and was thinking g I should ask you about them! Thanks! Do you raise sq andalusians? Id like to get some opins on their quality and eventually get some hatching eggs so I can get a roo or two!

Out of the 9 in my signature, none have laid yet. They are about 18 weeks old. I'm not so patiently waiting. I really think it is this HOT NM heat!

Last summer mine laid very early!

The fake eggs and/or golf balls will give them the idea where to lay but may not do much to encourage them to do so. I put two old golf balls in each nestbox a while back not only to give them the idea where but also to make them think it's unproductive to peck on round objects hopefully.I have one that will not lay in the nest boxes, would rather dig out a corner of the bedding in the coop and lay there. It has alot to do with breed how soon they lay though the weather may have something to do with it.
