Finally got our first egg today!!! Its so tiny, but its beautiful!! I cant believe all the anticipation waiting for it

It was so cool to open the nest box lid and find it in there!!!

Now I am looking forward to see what happens tomorrow. And in a few more weeks I should have two more girls ready to start laying woot woot

My countdown continues. Today, for the first time properly, Twofry (the eldest RIR) crouched when I approached her and put my hand over her. Sat there like a good girl for almost a minute. Should be days or maybe a couple of weeks now

I started getting eggs from my Red Sexlink around 20 weeks I believe. At least I think it's her. She gets kind of neurotic when I start monkeying around the nest box, and then after I'm done she always goes to look for the egg. Her and one of my RIRs are both squatting when I approach them though, so who knows. Those two are the biggest and most dominant. So I guess it makes sense that they'd start laying first. 8 more ladies the go. The Barred Rock might be next, even though they're younger. They seemed to plump up really quickly.
