19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

I found out today that my EE is laying brown eggs, darn! I really wanted to add some color to my egg cartons and see the surprise look on my little egg collectors face when she found it. Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

Must be time to get one more girl

That is a serious bummer. When I was choosing breeds, I got 2 EEs for the same reason as you (and I suspect, most EE owners). Didn't know at the time they could lay anything but blue/green. I got lucky and didn't find out personally. Your Elizabeth looks a lot like our Andromeda.

Awwww, Ratz! But I agree with Bruce: Let the Chicken Math begin.

I feel your pain. I'm still awaiting the elusive "blue" egg (my EEs and my duck lay various shades of green, only sometimes giving me one that is almost what you'd call blue). I LOVE my green eggs, but would probably faint over a sky blue one.

Also I'm having the worst luck ever even getting my hands on a chocolate egg layer ... almost all the Cuckoo Marans I've bought have either turned out to be "special" or are roosters ... there is one female in the grow-out coop that I'm pinning all my hopes on, which is never a good thing in this hobby.

There is a BYC member who does sell hatching eggs in the most spectacular shades with a great track record of producing gorgeous layers of gorgeous eggs and I plan to buy some for spring.

I do love pretty eggs.

The first one is my littlest silkie (micro?), then I'm not sure who layed the 2nd, 3rd is my blonde Easter Egger (it is green) and then, the last was layed today by the other EAster Egger..... oh, I'd never seen anything prettier than that. My last girl is laying! My rainbow of eggs. Great Christmas gift!

First Egg from our Barnyard Bantam, Penguin! Way to go girl! (I found it buried in the middle of the coop!) 2 more to start laying!!! One day we'll have an actual standard size egg, I know it!

She's pretty young in this picture. I have to take more recent ones!!

I put it on a crib board, because it's so hard to tell the color with no reference. Yeah.. I'm nutty

1.25oz, same as our other banty (left)

Yes, it is a bummer. Not sure I am ready for another chic just yet. I am new to chickens so my feet are still a little wet, but I have enjoyed them more than I ever dreamed of.

I have 54 chickens +4 babies {1month old now} & 4 Turkey. I've 4 roos I need to either rehome or fix for supper.

I have 5 pure bred Blue Cochins. 1Roo, 4 hens. 5 RIR, 4BL, 1LB, 1BR, 2 Domenique. 2 BO. 1EE hen, 3EE poulets. 2EE Roo's. A LB/BR roo and 2 Cochin/Black Copper Maran roo's. 1 Black Copper Maran hen. 3 Black Sex link hens. All the rest are a mix of Blue Cochin Roo over Black sex link hens & The Copper Maran hen. The majority of my flock is new this year, both by ordering day old chicks and Broody hens from last years flock. I lost most of my flock this spring due to a fire. But now I have the most I've every had in the past 5 years.
OPPS, forgot: I also have 3 Silky. 1White, 2 Black. and 2 white Showgirl.

B J Hopkins,

Your space for the chickens is so nice. They look happy.
And your eggs are very pretty.
Thank you.

(I could not have that many chickens)
