Found my first egg 4 days ago, now I have a total of 3 eggs from Rascal, which are getting larger with each lay. She has only missed one day so far. I don't believe the other 2 are ready to lay yet. Can't wait to find more than one egg a day.

It's so fun!! I wanted to tell you I just read all through your coop design and I absolutely love it!! We have the same exact unused playhouse (well OK, they use it sometimes but I really want to repurpose it!) and I think eventually I will use your ideas for another backyard coop. Great job!

Thank you. It was quite a challenge, but well worth it. It took us longer than we thought to get it ready for the girls and we still have a couple of issues to take care of. Let us know if we can answer any questions about our process.

I have had my little ones since 3-25 and they laid their first eggs (2 of the hens)on 8-12-2012

Finally I have some of my own eggs, it has been years since I have had chickens and am so happy to have them again.

I have just 5 banty's and the eggs are small, but hey, they eat small, saves on the feed bill, and they are turned out daily to roam my gardens to
take care of the grass hoppers and any other bugs that get in their way.

I get brown and white eggs. Average 3 a day now as 2 are not laying just yet.

People think I'm crazy for continually getting more chickens, you just can't help yourself. They are soo silly. My chickens range from about 16ish weeks to 20 weeks. Unfortunately the 20 week old chickens turned out to be roosters. Then I have 2 that are about 18ish weeks (a sicilian buttercup and silver campine) and the others I'm guessing to be about 16ish-17ish weeks, not very sure. (prod. red, BSL & EE) You think I would get tired of looking in their coop to see if there is any eggs. I'm starting to think one of my roosters is making fun of me because he will sit in the chicken coop for a bit and then I run out there to see if there are any eggs shortly afterwards. (Yes I know roosters don't lay eggs, I'm hoping its a shim rooster lol)
