Roosts in the coop, also we used them face to face as beams or face to plywood to cover seams and prevent drafts

All our plywood and osb was salvaged from elsewhere too. The shavings in the coop are from the sawmill as well

I'd use plywood or something under this, and use it as a second layer, either horizontal or vertically. It will be beautiful!
For predator protection, at least two layers are best for the walls. I'd love to have that stuff too!

That is what i did. My slabs are like cedar siding, horizontal placement. I love the look of it!

I am very thankful I happened up on this thread. I am in the finishing stages of my coop and my siding is the rough cut, sawmill wood, as well. About 90-95% of the boards’ sides are squared off and over the course of the build the boards have separated some due to drying. Even though the coop will be insulated and have an inside wall, I want to close those gaps to keep out all things critter. I’ve been wondering what the best product would be to fill the gaps and have been reading about chinking, but now I’m wondering if this OSI Quad is really what I need. Do you have any input into my quandary, @jthornton? Thanks much!

Yes OSI Quad is a flexible seal used on siding and other outdoor application and is paintable and not expensive.
