I actually saw Princess lay today for the 1st time. She is my first EE to lay and I've been anxiously awaiting the egg color, being from a hatchery and all. Just wanted to brag on her a little. This is her egg, among some of the others:

Taken inside, next to a window for natural light and on a white plate. [IMG]

    Wow that's big!!!
My RIR hens lay eggs about 2.5 oz, and I just discovered my first americauna egg the other day but it was 1.5 oz.

Quote:Hey! That's what I was going to say. And can we see Princess?

I have 2 Ideal Hatchery EE's that are about 4 months old. My 3rd EE, also from Ideal, lays green eggs, she was just short of 5 months old when she layed her first egg.

Princess was 24 weeks, 2 days when she laid that beauty. [IMG]

    Here she is:

She is the farthest to the left, with the partridge coloring. Her "sister" looks the same (next to her), but less golden/red.
