ok, well, today is day 22 and nothing else is moving.
this is what i learned:
put a deadbolt on the door the incubator is in. (done, incubator and brooders are in a walk in closet)
get a job so you dont check the eggs every 10 minutes. (ok, well, can't get a job, but sure can go shopping)
and nothing you do is gonna make all of them live.
i ended up with 5 total..and believe it or not, 2 of them were refridgerated eggs. so the total is 1 light brahma out of 2 eggs, 1 sizzle out of 7 started 3 that made it to lockdown, and 3 barred rocks out of 18 started, 6 made it to lockdown(one died in shell, never absorbed yolk).
cosidering that this LG would not temp in my house (old mobile home) so for the last 22 days i have woken up or gone in to check on it about every hour. The new hovabator that is sitting right next to it, i haven't touched in 9 days except to add water, and out of 42 shipped eggs that started, i've only lost 1 so far. you figure it out. so i know my dismal hatch rate was from wildly fluctuating temps (they went from 95 to 104 on occasion, and the usps, who i swear to god, if you write fragile, or eggs on it, they drop kick it from here to china.
thank you all for your hatching prayers. i have 5 very adorable and soon to be spoiled babies that i will try to take pictures of today.
