1st processed bird

Water was at 155(close enough to correct temp) dunked for about 30 seconds, and just plucked by hand. Going against the grain. These Cornish Crosses don't have alot of feathers, I probably spent 20-25 minutes plucking. Pressure against grain is the key. I only have 14 of these and 4 extra regular roos so any mechanical help cannot be cost justified. Heck if I had a processor in town this whole operation wouldn't be cost justified.(Not that any of it is) Towards the end I was just rubbing using a slight bit of fingernail to get the pinfeathers.

As much as I love Wings, I won't be raising these just to supply me with wings. They were the worst(for me) as I wanted a bird that looked like a store bird(so i could sneak it in on the family, the wife is not too fond of eating anything that enters the house 'slung over my shoulder'....she prefers the label to say Kroger....)

I am anxious to eat it though....
