Can you get a real good close up of the comb? Push crest back with one hand and have some one help you if needed. I think this may be a pullet at this age. Comb photo will help. Beautiful bird!

I think may be right about this one being a boy. The comb is dark mulberry already at 12 weeks. You should start seeing male saddle feathers growing out soon at the base of the tail. These will be pointy. šŸ˜Š

12 week update: theyā€™re so cuuutešŸ˜ they are awesome chicks šŸ„ still all showing very different traits from each of their parents itā€™s really cool to see. My kids love it too, they say ā€œtheyā€™re kind of like kidsā€ lol so I had to go into science teacher mode and remind them how that works. Share your pics of your mixed flock!!!! Iā€™d love to see them

Ok. I wasnā€™t sure about going by the color because the mom is black and hers is very dark as well. I didnā€™t raise her from a chick, she was given to me full grown so I wasnā€™t sure what to look for.

I would love to see photos of your other Polkie babies. šŸ˜ŠHere is my girl Kinoko now at almost 4 and half months. She creaks instead of clucks like her Polish mama.šŸ„°

Well one of yours is obviously a boy has a very red single type comb. Your white one however has a walnut type mulberry colored comb.
Looks like the mamaā€™s comb is completely black though which is normal in female Silkies.

It is cool they are all a little different. šŸ„°

Congratulations on your chicks! They are adorable! I would love to see pictures of mixed breeds also...and of yours as they grow! I put some eggs in the incubator from my mixed-flock.... can't wait to see what I get if anything. Hatch day is around April 27th. I've hatched quail once before, but this is my first time attempting to hatch chicken eggs....fingers crossed.
Hey here are 2 of the chicks the nn was a rooster so I rehomed him to my god father. How did your hatching go? Any success, if so can I seešŸ¤©
