"A human should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion..."

It's a FABULOUS quote, not it's not anonymous. It was written by Robert Heinlein (American science-fiction writer,1907-1988).

Good morning! We have 13 so far and they are still hatching. I'm really liking the egg carton method - very clean and all of the chicks are perfect.

Great! Thanks for the info. It was anonymous to me at the time I first read it and I didn't want anyone to think I was taking credit for it. There's not enough room to add his name to the end of the quote!!

Instead of laying the eggs on their sides in the incubator, you put them in egg cartons, big end up to hatch. This way you can fit more eggs in there and they don't roll around and knock into the other eggs as they are hatching. It is working beautifully!

Up to 15 and still going!!! All are beautiful, healthy and doing well. Oldtimegator, you were right - from now on I will only use the egg carton method! The only thing I'm not crazy about is that their little heads are closer to the heating element so I am trying to grab those out and put them in the other bator, but it's only a few chicks on the one side. Had to set the carton off-center because it only held 30 eggs and I had 35.
