I was just given a silkie chick who is about 2 or 3 days old. It's legs kind of kick out straight behind it and it just kind of flops about and has trouble walking. I braced it's legs but it still had issues standing... also it's crop was empty when I picked it up tonight and I gave it some water with nutridrench in it...and I've been hand feeding it tiny amounts of non medicated starter and a few drops of water for the last hour or two since I brought it home....I put it in my bra to keep it quiet and warm, but once it started falling asleep, it is now twitching its head like once every 3-5 seconds...
Any information any of you might have that would help me to get this baby to survive would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Where'd you get it from? Is it the ONLY chick you have? If so & possible, get at least another for it's company, chickens are social animals. If you choose not to, a feather duster will mimic a Hen, a mirror may make it think there's another chick, keep the radio on for 'noise'...Keep it warm using a 40w light bulb, making sure it can get away from the heat if it gets too warm.

There's a website PoultryPedia what will help you with it's leg issues, which could be a vitamin issue. Being a Silkie, I recently learned this, they have a soft spot on top of their heads. Hopefully it hasn't had an injury that you're to aware of. The twitching could be just a reflex, hopefully.

I have 6 other chicks the same age, but this one was given to.me because of his leg issues. I tried putting him in the brooder with the.others and as soon as he stumbled over and fell, the bigger chicks (EE's) just stomped all over him...he is in my bra..( I have hand raised a few this way that were special needs.) I read somewhere that some silkies have this neurological issue that makes them twitch their heads...I am also researching recovery.slings so I don't have to constantly give him Physical therapy sessions.
Something like the picture below ( not my pic.)
