Hi, yesterday I picked 3 white Ameraucana chicks from Annette Rodriguez. She has gorgeaus birds and it was a pleasure to meet her. I looked at their combs to figure out gender when I was choosing them. I had an idea of 3 hens in my mind. After getting home and having hanged out with them some more, I am thinking we might have a little roo.Could you give me your opinion, I would appreciate it very very much. I can provide more pictures if neccesary. From left to right: Chick 1, Chick 2, and Chick 3.
Male's comb starts with the definition of three ridges, sometimes visible at 1 month of age. Also female combs tend to be more yellow than pink until the are around 8 - 10 weeks old when color changes to pink. From this, I think two of these chicks are girls, what do you think about the other one?: comb looks smooth but kind of wide, no ridges that I can see.
Thank you
Chick 1

Chick 2

And last one: Chick 3
