2 candle questions

Dear OP,

I read that you had temp swings, I did too. While the high temp was the air temp I reduced the effect by using heat sinks to fill the incubator. 2 quart size jars filled with water (mason or spagetti ) and placed on both sides with eggs in center. The LG was a real challenge but I learned a lot by using it!

I had swings, and still hatched a few. GL

Heat sinks? very interesting. I don't think my bator is tall enough for a spagetti jar. Maybe I can get the shorter fatter mason jars. But how does that help? I've heard of it helping with humidity, but keeping constant temps?

I use pint sized mason jars in my LG and put a lid on them so I don't mess with the humidity.

Water does not gain nor lose heat as fast as air. Think of the jars of water as ballast. They help to keep the air temps from moving when the element is temperature-swinging.
