I am really just guessing, but I think it means to dip the beak in oil so the duck will swallow some, like dunking in water to get a sick bird to drink.

One last question for the night:
Would you continue to give fluids every three hours? Vet gave them to her @ 4:30 & then we continued @ 7:30 & then again @ 10:30.

There’s water in her crate but since we’ve been giving to every three hours she’s no longer drinking.

Yes, if she is not drinking, I would keep giving water as my top priority.

how did the vet say to give fluids. One major thing here that hasn’t been mentioned is if she is not able to hold peaches and peas down what if you give her oil and she brings it back up and it goes into her lungs.

That is my concern too, because one drop of oil down the trachea could cause lipoid pneumonia, which could be fatal.

How much water are you giving?
How are you giving it?

Water is what I would use the treat a blockage, lots of it, and I would give it subcutaneously (IV fluids under the skin) and I would tube the oral fluids.
