2 Chickens Dumped - What are they? Pic Heavy

What do you think this chick is? It is suppose to be a Speckled Sussex pullet. But, it does not have the pinkish legs and I feel like it has a big comb...although no color in it yet. It is 5/6 weeks old. Can you take a guess? And is it pullet or roo? It has only a few white dots on its wings but nowhere else. Thanks.

I agree it's a speckled Sussex. Many SS chicks can look very differently and feather out as normal adults. Appears to be a pullet. SS can be hard to sex based on comb development.

As for the other 2 chicks in question. I think it highly improbable to get a purebred Welsummer from school project eggs. They both appear to be barnyard mix at this point.

Updated images of the chick. This is the smaller/darker of the two.

I think I've determined that what was suppose to be a SS is really a Brown Leghorn. I called the man I got it from and he said, "Yes, he did have Brown Leghorns" So, I've changed her name from "Freckles" to "Plain Jane" and will call her "Jane" for short. My husband said we will keep her since he thinks we should have at least one chicken that lays white eggs.

Here mine has gotten a lot big since it first looked like yours. She had all of that brown lacing on her more then she does now. I have noticed that some of my New Hamps Reds Looked a little diff in there coloring on there bodies and patterns.

Here is my Red Star
