2 chicks down & I’m worried about the rest! Help!

No problem at all. It's never easy losing chicks. I hope it helps.

If you're using medicated feed and theyre eating it, you dont need to use the corrid in the water as well. Just one or the other.

I also forgot to mention eggs. If my chicks will not eat, I will cook some eggs and put it in a syringe then squeeze it out in front of them. They will usually peck it then go nuts when they realize its food. If not, I will sometimes force feed them by opening their beak, squeezing some in and then shutting their beak. Enough to fill a little of their crop. It will keep them alive and give them energy.
Thank you! I have just been squeezing in the nutridrench water, hoping that gives her some sustenance. I have been afraid to force feed, but have thought of it several times. Maybe I will try some egg yolk

My 4th sick chick is really struggling. I got a couple drops of yolk in her, and have been giving her the fluids you all have mentioned. Something to note- I just noticed that her ears look slightly bloody. Does that ring any bells for anyone?

The remaining 2 seem completely normal and healthy. Not sure why they dodged this, but I am thankful.

Thank you all SO much

If the the 4th one doesn’t make it, would you consider sending it to a lab for testing? It’s not uncommon to lose a chick or two with shipped chicks, but 3/6 tells me something is not right at all. I usually get 25 or more in a shipment and rarely lose more than one, maybe two within the first day or so.

Yes, I would be more than willing.
My 4th chick just passed - luckily the other 2 seem happy and healthy, but I am very curious what is going on... Would you happen to know how to go about that?

They hatched 8/31, I received shipment confirmation that afternoon, and they were delivered on the morning of 9/2. So maybe 40 hours?
That's not bad at all unless they had a terrible trip. In that case I would expect them all to be lethargic or DOA. Definitely something else going on.

I just saw this and thought I would add in our experience. We got an order from them last week and lost most of them within the week. We had then at more than one house and each of us lost a chick a day. The folks on the phone can’t do much so escalate it to their sales manager.

This is very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
What did Meyer end up doing for you?
