2 Crazies setting Buckeye eggs today--anyone want to join?

Come on chickies!

#3 is out and sitting in the half shell! BE1 is trying to zip

Question? #3 doesn't have the brown tip on it's beak. The other two do. Aren't they supposed to have a brown tip?

Never mind, it is just a very light color brown tip

Well since my temperature was a little high and I hatched first I guess I will be the first one to post pictures. There are 7 buckeyes( Laura Hagerty) and 7 rosecomb RIRs(Dick Hortsman) and four olive eggers (my bunch).A couple of them are not completely dry yet so they are not in the picture.I usually let them stay in the bator for 24 hours to get completely dried out. Here are the cute little fuzzy butts

Ahhhh they are adorable James. What a variety!

I have 4 out and my gut says the other two won't hatch, but I am hoping! I will wait until about 8 and then candle them to see. They are sweet, but not cute and fluffy fluff balls yet. More sad looking and wanting food and water!

If you only get 4 I will send you another dozen once I get caught up for just the shipping if you want me to.Some reason yours and Kathys didnt do as well and I shipped them the same day..The batch before seinkied( 10 chicks) and after Chipper is doing great. You never know with birds fertility and shipping and weather this time of year.I bet the four you did get you will be in love with very quickly.

Nice picture, James! Waiting on yours, Germaine..

I am now at 4 pips. One of them might be thinking about zipping! I think I will be up all night again!

Tomorrow is day 21 for the Orps (and Turkens

), but they are always a day late, it seems. Hopefully, these Buckeyes will get a move on before long. I have never seen a Buckeye! When I talked at the feedstore .... noone there had ever even heard of them! Awwww, more interested possibilities!

It shouldn't be much longer Kathy. Maybe they are just starting up if everyone else runs a little late. I am trying to keep busy so I dont go in and scoop out the hatched ones. I am cleaning out the roo and small hen coops. Stinky!!!
