2 Crazies setting Buckeye eggs today--anyone want to join?

10 Buckeye eggs: 3 hatched out, 3 pips
18 BBS Orps and Turkens: 1 Orp hatched, 1 pip

The Orps and Turkens were set the day after the Buckeyes. The other 3 Buckeye pips don't seem to be progressing. I hope they will get moving soon!

Good Morning! update ...
I have 6 Buckeyes this morning, and 3 more are pipped.

I heard a peeping and went to see what was wrong in the brooder and it was coming from the hatcher! One Japanese out and a couple more pips. And a day early. I don't see any pips in the Buckeyes yet, though.

I'm now up to 7 Buckeyes. 2 more are half zipped. 10th egg was an early quitter.

Orps 1, Turkens 1.

My Buckeyes are done hatching. I got 9 of them. In the beginning I was really hoping for twice that many. .... but, I have 9. (

please don't be all roosters!) I do hope to hatch more of them.

The Orps are hatching now. So far 4 Orps and 1 Turken. These will join the other 6 Orps I hatched last week. YAY Orps! I have all 3 colors ... Black, Blue, and Splash. I am so excited!

Had to work outside today. The chickens all enjoyed the day free ranging, as well. It was in the high 40s and sunshine. My oldest grow-out pen of 40 had tooooo many roosters. Most are around 20 - 24 weeks old now, and the boys seem to think they are mature now .... and are bothering the girls too much. I had to reopen the bachelor pad, and they were not happy about it! I have yet to make a decision on which roos to keep for breeding. I feel like I need another month to be sure with this bunch (BCMarans, Blue & Splash Marans, JGiants), if I keep any of them.
