I just got 6 chicks today from a local fleet store and one (a gold-laced wyandotte) has an eye that's swollen and crusty. It was totally shut. After reading lots of threads on here, I tried putting a little tea on it. That seems to have helped and it's open a slit now. It looks kinda gray and slimey underneath - what little I can see of it - so I'm wondering if I should keep going with the tea or maybe get some saline or antibiotics or what. She seems totally fine otherwise - runs around with the others, has no problem locating food, doesn't seem to bump into things or trip, etc. I'm not new to chickens, but certainly no expert either, so any help would be appreciated.

She now has a more noticeable swelled sort of bubble on the bottom eyelid. Maybe she got pecked?

I'm not sure at this point if I should try to do something or just let her be and hope it corrects itself. Like I said, she seems to be doing fine otherwise.

Thanks for any advice!

I've been applying saline and the eye will open up a little (looks gray and slimey on the eyeball) and then it closes up again later. Do I need to use something else? Try tea again?
