Hello everyone,
I hatched 5 out of 5 Easter Egger chicks this Monday-Tuesday. All are fine but this little one. She has splayed/spraddled legs and curled toes. She is eating and drinking and doing all the little chick things but she walks on her hocks like a little crab. I have read a lot of the posts on this condition but what should I be concerned first with this legs or the feet? I made the little boots and then attempted to tape the legs and she would not walk at all. Can please some one advise me what the best treatment course to take. I would rather not cull if there is a way to correct this. The elbow was getting reddened so I put some of the band-aid to protect the skin.
Anyone please give any input

Thank you PolarBearPilot I made the brace as per the website you sent.. I really liked the first one as it got into the physical therapy they will need.. will have the see how she does. She is eating and drinking and the others are looking out for her, its rather cute, and can she move fast but walks on her hocks. Just hope she does walk somewhat normal as time goes on, if not I will have to keep her separate down the road in may spare coop. I sure will not have to worry about her scratching up my flowers, Thanks again!

My poor little chick with the splay legs, I had to put him down.

He was so raw at the hocks even with the padding. The attempts with rehab for him failed and he was much smaller then the others was not eating. I wanted to thank you for your help.
