Do you have names in mind or do your ducks do like my chickens and name themselves when the time comes?

I'm honestly afraid to name anymore ducks :( everyone I have named has died and broke my heart ... I was going to name these two Thelma and Louise but idk if that's a jinx

DH always tells me not to name mine also. He said the ones I love always die on me. Truth is I love them all but my favorite rooster, Red (my avatar) was my baby. He died about June of last year followed by Tweek who liked to sit on my shoulder. Then Larry, my gorgeous Lavender Orpington died of a heart attack followed by his daughter, Baby who died a cardiac death also. The only one that died and wasn't named was a failure to thrive chick last fall.

I still name them, or they name themselves, really. I have Junior who is Red's son and Rocky, also a Red son. I helped him out of his shell and one of our cats almost got him so I said he got off to a rocky start and the name stuck. Then there is Rosebud, also a son of Red...okay, he's a bit odd but I like uniqueness and he was supposed to be a hen, thus the name and since he's a bit well, weird, the name has stuck. He tends to fall off his perch a lot. Poor baby. But the hens like him. If he ever fathers any chicks I keep getting this image of them running into things a lot and falling off their little roosts.

Did I miss anything? What happened to Ray?

No, Thankfully Ray is still here and just beautiful, I will try to share pictures of him as soon as I can. We can't forget about my sweet buddy, he's been mourning Pandora BIG TIME, I'm not kidding, he sits in the spot she was killed all the time :( he's not going anywhere anytime soon, I can't imagine losing my little Ray duck

Glad to hear that Ray is okay. I was wondering about that myself. If I were you I'd be getting some cover over him and that spot so he isn't a target sitting out in the open.

He came up to the house this morning when he saw me, he's in my lap right now being a sweet little duck. I may just keep him here with me.
