2 hens-laying same time, same nest box

The other day, I found 2 of my hens in my bigger nest box at the same time. It appears that they were laying eggs at the same time. I'm not worried about it but i'm wondering if other people have this experience of hens sharing a nest box when they're laying an egg. This is a nest box that I created out of a cardboard box and it is big enough to hold the 2 chickens comfortably.

I've had 3-4 hens trying to lay an egg in the same nesting box at the same time. For whatever reason, some hens just prefer one specific nesting box over the others, and on that time, there was way too many wanting to lay an egg in the same nesting box at the same time.

If I'm around, I'll pull out the extra hen and put her in a different nesting box. Sometimes I'll give her a couple of eggs to convince her to stay in the other box, which usually doesn't work.

My hens will body slam eachother and try to poke eyes out over the same nest box, even though they have 20+ to choose from.

Your chickens just live in the house?? Or do you have some sort of awesome coop/hangout zone man(chicken)cave type thing?

Our hens will sometimes stack themselves on top of each other to lay in the same box. It is like whichever box is used first becomes the favorite of the day.
